2419. Adulteration of frozen pollack fillets. U. S. v. 51 Soxes of Pollack Fillets. Default decree of condemnation and destruction. (F. D. C. No. 5450. Sample No. 59397-E.) On August 27, 1941, the United States attorney for the Southern District of West Virginia filed a libel against 51 boxes of pollack fillets at Charleston, W. Va., alleging that the article had been shipped in interstate commerce on or about August 6, 1941, by the American Fish Co. from Boston, Mass.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it consisted in whole or in part of a decomposed substance. The article was labeled in part: (Boxes) "Cape Ann Brand Pollock Fillets Packed By Cape Ann Fisheries Inc. Gloucester, Mass." On September 23, 1941, no claimant having appeared, judgment of condemna- tion was entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
