On September 6 and 16, 1940, the United States attorney for the Eastern 
District of Virginia filed libels against 1,711 bags of corn meal at Norfolk, Va., 
alleging that theTirticle had been shipped in interstate commerce within the period 
from on or about August 5 to on or about September 3, 1940, by Evans Mills, 
Inc., from Tyner, N. C.; and charging that it was adulterated in that it con- 
sisted in whole or in part of a filthy substance. It was labeled in part: "Bolted 
Virginia Dare   *   *    *   Corn Meal."
On October 2 and 25, 1940, no claimant having appeared, judgments of 
condemnation were entered and the product was ordered destroyed.
