Genetic counseling : bad and good technique Genetic Counseling This video presents several sessions with a married couple. The couple has a child with cystic fibrosis and wants to know the options and risks for future pregnancies. The program explains that any child the couple conceives will have a 25 percent chance of having cystic fibrosis. With these odds, couples may find themselves considering different options including sterilization, abortion, or raising multiple children with a serious chronic illness. The couple is also advised that with the rise of legal abortions, adopting may be more difficult in the United States.
