<dc:description>The article described use of the [14C] deoxyglucose method to map functional activity in the primary visual pathways of the monkey. This study provided the first functional images of the nature and extent of the ocular dominance columns in the primary visual cortex and also for the first time showed the locale of the representations of the blind spots of the visual field in the visual cortex.</dc:description>
