There are 7 women in the room; they are wearing long-sleeved blue dresses with a row of buttons down the front, and white half-aprons. All but one is wearing a blue and white hat. The hats have long white ties that extend from the back of the hat to be tied under the chin. There are 2 long wooden tables down the middle of the room which are being used for ironing. There is a another table at the left, where 2 of the women are folding laundry. One woman is seated next to the door in front of a large clothes wringer.
