The videos were sponsored by the International Leprosy Association and prepared for the 12th International Leprosy Congress held in February 1984 in New Delhi, India. People with this disease suffer stigma due to their deformities, which are preventable if proper steps are taken. The causes of nerve damage that results in a lack of the ability to feel pain are examined, and through a series of slides, the results and accompanying symptoms are shown. Recommendations are given for treating patients at various stages and severity of leprosy, plus ways to prevent or slow deterioration of tissues.
