<dc:description>Part of a series dedicated to highlighting advances in neurosciences and brain research, this lecture is part of Symposium VI: the Adaptable Brain. The speaker is Antonio Damasio and the lecture is also signed by an interpreter. Damasio first dicusses nervous tissue and function in the brain. He talks about how and where memory is stored and shows slides of various imaging techniques that allow one to observe a living brain responding to memory experiments. He and his colleagues developed a "Gambling Test" that examined how long it takes for a person to learn rules with the incentive of a reward at the end.</dc:description>
