Merzenich's research examines changes in the brain that account for people's neuro-behavioral differentiations and the self-organization of the brain. Organization, or "learning," is something the brain does constantly, not something that begins and ends in adolescence. This is evidence of ongoing brain plasticity. Dr. Merzenich describes experiments with monkeys that help demonstrate this.
