<dc:description>In this postcard a young woman is preparing to leave home, presumably to serve as a nurse. She stands with an elerly man, possibly her father, outside a home that has an ornate awning over the front door and metal filagree window decorations. There are flower gardens and a pond, and at the end of a drive, ornate metal gates. Outside the gates a bus waits for the woman. She is dressed in a long dark coat with a white armband with a red cross on her left arm. Her left hand is on the shoulder of the elderly man. He is dressed all in black and has a long white beard. His right hand is raised as he sends her on her way to support the soldiers and be his his pride and that of France.</dc:description>
