These newly discovered genes &quot;were detected with oligonucleotide probes corresponding to an amino acid sequence that is thought to be part of the nucleotide sequence recognition site of homeobox proteins.&quot;  These probes were also designed to provide a means of detecting additional sets of homeobox genes.</dc:description>
