The program had the primary goals of increasing the scientific understanding of the genetic inheritance and history of maize and increasing the yield of corn crops in Latin America. This proposal addressed work to be completed with the Tuxpeno, Chalqueno, Conico, Mal-Tel, and a cross of Tuxpeno and Mal-Tel varieties of maize.</dc:description>
