The legislation specifically required the Census Bureau to increase the CPS sample size order to more accurately estimate the number of uninsured low-income children who are potentially eligible for the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP). This brief describes these changes, the time for adoption, and the potential impact on future CPS state coverage estimates.
