This issue brief discusses laws and regulations enacted by federal and state governments in 2022 that deal with payment reform in Medicare and Medicaid programs. Various forms of reimbursement mechanisms are discussed. Value-based payment models, rural health payment models, and payment mechanism that support health equity are discussed.
