This symposium on the history of narcotic drug addiction, held March 27-29, 1958, was hosted by the National Institute of Mental Health. Many pioneers of addiction treatment, research, and policy presented papers, including Lawrence Kolb. The pre-publication draft in the Lawrence Kolb Papers also includes some of his editorial notes and comments.
