Abstract:
S. Dana Hubbard, Acting Director of the New York City Health Department's Bureau of Public Health Education, wrote about the city's narcotic clinic. The clinic, opened in 1919, was an early attempt to help addicts cut off their supplies by the 1914 Harrison Narcotics Act, and to learn more about addiction and its extent in New York City.
