- Abstract:
- A photographic image of a nurse with patients in the Royal National Mission to Deep Sea Fishermen dressing station. The nurse is bandaging a girl's finger. The girl is sitting at a long narrow table and is wearing a dark coat and a woolen cap. Her head is turned toward the camera, her expression serious. The nurse is wearing a white apron over a dress, wide white cuffs, collar and head scarf. There is a diagonal Cross of St. Andrew on her chest and head scarf, signifying she is a member of Scotland's St. Andrew's Ambulance Association. Across from the girl, on the other side of the narrow table, is a boy in a dark coat and cap holding a skimpy bouquet of flowers. He is also looking at the camera. His face is serious and almost sad. Standing behind him is a dark-haired woman in a dark coat, smiling at the camera. On the wall between the woman and the nurse is a cabinet with a sign: RN, with a Red Cross below the letters, followed by MDSF, then PD underneath.
