The window is partially covered with a lacy white curtain. She is sitting at an angle in relation to the camera looking straight at it, unsmiling. She is wearing a striped dress with a white apron and a veil tied in a bow under her chin. Her veil is partially covering the large Red Cross on her chest. Her left elbow is resting on the windowsill, her right arm folded over her stomach, holding her left hand with her right.
