The impact modernization has had on population growth in Costa Rica is felt equally in large urban centers such as San José, and the country’s majority-agricultural communities. The film depicts the interrelated missions of government-supported programs created to promote early childhood nutrition, maternal care, and modern family planning methods. Features statements by a former Secretary of Health and by Daniel Oduber Quirós, the 37th President of Costa Rica.
