Abstract:
This film details the nature and extent of schistosomiasis in Egypt. Symptoms of the disease in patients are shown. The Egyptian Ministry of Health studies and attempts to control the population of snails that spread the disease, treats the contaminated water supply, and works towards curing infected members of the population and educating the public. The United States Naval Research Unit No. 3 outside Cairo performs experiments to assist in developing treatments.
