Abstract:
Proper general lifting techniques, proper body mechanics, and the avoidance of back injuries are explained and demonstrated using a model. In addition, specific common lifting problems related to hospital personnel are shown. Emphasis is on lessening the strain on one’s back by bending the knees and standing straight. Coordination is also important when lifting with others. These steps are essential to nurse and patient alike. Wooden models as well as clips of live-action lifting are shown to better demonstrate these examples.
