Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents an approach to periapical surgery utilizing a mucoperiosteal flap, and compares the mucoperiosteal flap with a similar incision. The technique is accurately and clearly deomonstrated. More detail as to indications for the procedure would enhance the material. Discussion of other approaches to periapical surgery is omitted and minor conflicts in nomenclature of the surgical site are noted. Photographs and diagrams of excellent quality are integrated. Although the program is primarily directed at the predoctoral level, it does not start at a sufficiently basic level for the undergraduate student. The module is recommended for use.
