Abstract:
(Critical) This program is a summary of three classic endodontic surgical flap designs. The similunar, scallop and mucoperiosteal flap designs are compared. Indications, contraindications, clinical complications and the disadvantages of improper flap design are discussed. The live surgical demonstrations and graphic illustrations are effectively integrated into this well-organized production. However, the discussion is slightly disjointed, incomplete and somewhat superficial. Extensive knowledge of dental terms and surgical principles is presumed. The program is recommended especially for undergraduate dental students.
