Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents various electrodiagnostic and acoustic tests for making a site of lesion diagnosis supranuclear, nuclear and peripheral in cases of peripheral facial paralysis. This includes, among others, stapidius reflex test, electrogustometry, submaxillary salivary gland secretion test, nerve excitability, and electromyography. Methods of treatment for idiopathic facial paralysis are described. Central nervous system lesions associated with facial paralysis are not discussed and, in general, this program falls short of a comprehensive discussion of the subject. The visualization is clear and accurate. It is recommended for use.
