In this program, recorded at the 6th annual William Beaumont Gastrointestinal Symposium in March 1977 in El Paso, Texas, Dr. Andre Dubois of the National Naval Medical Center and Uniformed Services University presents an analysis of the respective role of the meal and of gastric water secretion in the determination of intragastric volume and evaluates if water secretion can be neglected in studies of gastric retention using the saline load test. Dr. Dubois presents several slides with charts illustrating his findings.
