Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents and compares the light microscopy of the three major types of cartilage, hyaline, fibro, and elastic; and an electron micrograph of hyaline cartilage. The educational impact is somewhat weakened by the very ineffective demonstration of the elastic fibers in the matrix of elastic cartilage, and by the misstatement that elastic cartilage is found in the internal, rather than external, ear. Overall, however, this is an efficient, worthwhile program and is recommended for use.
