Abstract:
(Critical) An excellent discussion and demonstration of the identification of alcohol abuse in the general patient. To facilitate recognition of the alcoholic, interviewing techniques for use during general history collection are delineated. The accompanying written literature, which is particularly useful if studied prior to viewing the tape, supports the presentation very well. Due to an excessive number of out of focus scenes, the visual quality, unfortunately, detracts considerably from the program. For the most part, the material utilizes an effective teaching approach and is recommended highly for use.
