Abstract:
(Critical) This program presents the surgical procedure of tracheostomy, with emphasis on selection and placement of the tube. It is aimed at a level of surgical training that would benefit from a more detailed description of the technique of placing incision, dissecting through the strap muscles and thyroid isthmus, and more thorough discussion of possible difficulties encountered. The program is recommended with reservations for surgical residents.
