Abstract:
This videotape demonstrates the abdominal incisions used for cholecystectomy, namely: (1) right subcostal incision, (2) right paramedian muscle incision and (3) the hockey stick incision used especially in cases of obesity. This latter incision is also helpful for full abdominal exploration a procedure which is demonstrated in detail. Finally, a cholecystectomy for cholelithiasis is shown. The gallbladder is found thickened with a single cholesterol stone. No patient follow-up is given.
