Abstract:
(Producer) This program discusses the classification of neuromuscular diseases by their inheritance pattern, problems in determination of genotype (variable expression and diagnosis of carrier state), value of prenatal diagnosis in neuromuscular diseases, and the impact of genetic counseling. and Genetic counseling for new parents usually consists of detection by enzyme, sex, or genetic linkage. Such methods can be utilized to discover potential abnormalities before the end of pregnancy. Studies show that patients often do use recurrent risk information in planning their families. Although professional medical attention can be expensive, viewers are told that books are available on the topic, as well as other forms of research.
