Abstract:
This program provides a discussion of electromyography, nerve conduction, and other electrical studies of the clinical appraisal of neuromuscular disorders. The lecture includes detailed analysis on neuromuscular diseases as well as electrical studies of clinical appraisals of these neuromuscular disorders. Areas of focus include the motor neuron, axon, peripheral nerve, and the muscle. To perform these studies, a glass pipette must be inserted into the single muscle fiber to record muscle action potential. Graphs depicting muscle response are shown throughout.
