Abstract:
(Producer) This program discusses metabolic myopathies including glycogen storage diseases and some newly recognized disorders of lipid metabolism. It presents an overview of glycogen metabolism and explains the three steps involved in glycogen synthesis. Three glycogen storage diseases which cause major neuromuscular disorders and two disorders of lipid metabolism that effect muscle are described.
