This program, presented by the National Institute of Neurological and Communicative Disorders and Stroke, is a lecture by Dr. John Griffin of the John Hopkins School of Medicine. Dr. Griffin describes the axonal transport systems and their role in the normal maintenance of motor neurons. He also reviews what is currently known about axonal transport in motor neuron pathology. Several slides, including a highly schematic detail of a motor neuron, are presented throughout the lecture.
