Abstract:
(Critical) This program discusses technical requirements for videotaping bronchoscopic examinations through both the rigid and fiberoptic bronchoscope. The endoscope, light source, TV camera and monitor, and testing equipment are discussed. An expensive studio-quality setting is compared with a less expensive, smaller TV camera which may be suitable for clinical use. The quality variations of several systems are effectively portrayed. The discussion concentrates on the general needs for adequate light and color, but specific technical detail on optimum light levels and color correction are not provided. This production accurately reflects the state of the art in medical TV electronics and is highly recommended for use.
