Abstract:
(Critical) This program correlates the localized dermatologic problems of dry skin disorders and both generalized and localized itching. Systemic causes and management of pruritus are discussed, including chronic liver diseases, diabetes mellitus, leukemia, lymphoma and drug ingestion. Insufficient time is given to the pathophysiologic mechanisms of generalized pruritus. Although the content is clearly presented, the clinical correlation and slide material could be better integrated. This program is recommended for use.
