(Critical) This program demonstrates the proper mixing and placement of three types of dental pulp protection materials including calcium hydroxide, zinc phosphate cement, and cavity varnish with a prepared typodont molar tooth prior to the placement of the final restorative material. The presentation contains several deficiencies such as a lack of discussion of other acceptable pulp protection materials, the different methods of cavity preparation, and the wide selection of final restorative materials currently available. Thus, this program is recommended for limited use for undergraduate dental students and dental assistants.
