Abstract:
(Critical) This program, first of a series of three programs on thromboembolic problems, presents available diagnostic procedures for venous thrombosis and their relative advantages and limitations. The limitations of the clinical diagnosis in this area are stressed. The techniques of venography, radioactive fibrinogen scanning, ultrasound diagnosis, and impedance plethysmography are shown. The role of each procedure in diagnosing venous thrombosis is also discussed. The objectives are stated and accomplished in a clear, logical manner. Thus, this program is highly recommended for medical, nursing and physicians' assistants students.
