Abstract:
(Critical) This program describes the techniques of excising palmar fascia in a single band from a little finger extending across the metacarpal phalangeal joint into the finger. Surgical techniques of excision of small bands of tissue are discussed, along with the pitfalls of this technique. The management of Z-plasties with regard to skin closure, the application of appropriate dressings, and post-operative care are also considered. The material is accurate, easily visualized, and instructive in its completeness and clarity. Thus, the program is recommended for orthopedic and plastic surgeons and physical therapists.
