Abstract:
(Critical) This program describes the presenting symptoms of a lytic bone lesions of a phalanx and illustrates the technique of surgical removal. The lesion is a solitary enchondroma, but the diagnosis given is a gross morphologic and histologic diagnosis. A discussion of the differential diagnoses of lytic lesions in the hand skeleton would add to the presentation. Thus, this program is considered of limited usefulness to orthopedic and plastic surgeons.
