Abstract:
(Producer) This program focuses on the implementation of quality control procedures in the preparation and transfusion of platelet concentrates. The recommended procedures are based on current standards. The program demonstrates proper procedures for harvesting platelets from whole blood, pooling platelet concentrates, calibrating the centrifuge, and, in addition, shows how to calculate in vitro yields and in vivo recovery of platelets.
