Abstract:
(Critical) This presentation, program 7 of a series on sexuality and physical disability, discusses issues, causes, and resolutions of problems faced by homosexuals. The program consists of a lecture and brief Q&A session. The speaker is strongly in favor of homosexual liberation and societal acceptance. To him, the gay liberation movement consists of four things: equal employment, an end to police brutality, changes in state law, and general societal acceptance of homosexual behavior. He also touches on the double life that many homosexuals feel forced to live, which often results in depression and low self-esteem. The title is misleading, as the program solely considers homosexuality and not sexual variations, but the material included is well-presented and is recommended as an introductory program of instruction for medical, psychiary, nursing and allied health students.
