(Critical) This presentation explains ptosis of the eyelid and discusses it causes as well as methods of diagnosis and treatment. The material is current and accurate, therefore, it is recommended for ophthalmologists and allied health professionals. and This video is a presentation on ptosis, or a disease that involves drooping and/or falling of the upper eyelid. The detailed lesson focuses on different types of ptosis, the severity of each kind, and the treatment and prognosis for each situation. Emphasis is also made on the cause of the ptosis and what may be done to prevent the disease in the first place. Several photos of different patients are shown as examples.
