(Critical) This program, number three in a series on current nursing care concepts in diabetes, presents an overall description of what the diabetic needs to know, particularly in terms of caring for their chronic illness after returning home from the hospital. The education of this individual varies according to their needs, age, lifestyle, type of diabetes, and learning ability. Various brochures and resources for the patient are shown, as well as examples of bad teaching techniques to avoid. Some general discussion of teaching philosophies is also included. The content is well organized and thus, the program is recommended for practical nursing and nursing aide students.
