Abstract:
In this presentation, recorded at the 24th Annual Armed Forces Seminar on Obstetrics and Gynecology in October 1975, Major Ronald S. Gibbs presents a hypothetical malpractice lawsuit, which he calls Simpson v. Tucker. According to the lawsuit, Mrs. Simpson died after delivering her baby with the help of both caesarean section and the prophylactic use of antibiotics. The plaintiff and defense introduce evidence either defending or attacking prophylactic use of antibiotics while invalidating the believability of the opposing evidence. Major Gibbs then provides his own opinions on the medical case.
