Abstract:
Color postcard of the interior of a train car. There are six female passengers, three on each side of the coach. On the right side, two women are sitting together and looking up towards the nurse-stewardess in the aisle, who is wearing a navy blue uniform with a peaked hat. Behind them sits one woman who is looking out the window. Across the aisle is one women sitting alone reading a magazine. Behind her are two women seated together. The seats are upholstered in an orange plaid fabric with white headrests with the Challenger logo. Suitcases are above in the luggage racks. Text on postcard verso: "Coaches exclusively for the use of women and children are a feature of the popular, money-saving Challengers. The individual coach seats have adjustable backs, and free pillows are available. There is porter service in the coaches as well as in the sleeping cars. Soft night lights. A registered nurse-stewardess looks after the welfare of all passengers."
