Abstract:
Color postcard advertising professional shoes for women from the McGeary's Cantilever Shoe Shop in Boston, Massachusetts. Five shoes, labeled A through E, are shown on the front of the postcard and described in detail on the back. They are low-heeled shoes, 2 in black, 3 in white. On the top left is a head and shoulders illustration of a nurse holding a telephone to her left ear. She is wearing a white uniform and cap and has brown, wavy hair. On the lower right is an illustration of two women. One woman is sitting in a red and yellow striped chair; she has brown hair and is covered with a white cloth. The other woman has blond hair, and wearing a blue short-sleeve uniform with white lapels and cuffs. She appears to be styling the seated woman's hair. On the back of the postcard is a detailed description of the shoes, "Cantilever famous duty and professional shoes at a special price of $5.95." The store's address is McGeary's Cantilever Shoe Shop, third floor, 145 Tremont Street, between West Street and Temple Place, Boston, Mass., Telephone LIBerty 8034.
