Abstract:
In this black and white photographic postcard, a nurse comforts a woman in what appears to be damaged home. The nurse cradles the woman who is sitting on the bed. The nurse is wearing a long uniform with short sleeves. There are dark crosses on the front of her cap and dress. She has her left arm around the woman's shoulders and her right hand on the woman's left arm. The dark-haired woman, wearing a white blouse and long black skirt, is resting her head on the nurse's chest. The bed and wall are damaged, wallpaper is torn and hanging from the walls, and there is debris in the room. The image may have been taken in Vera Cruz, Mexico, during the Mexican Revolution.
