Pictures his experiments in pasteurization and his efforts to develop a vaccine against rabies. The man who plays Pasteur, Roland Tirat, was not an actor but rather a friend of the director who was asked to play the role simply because he resembled Pasteur, He appeared in no other films. Original 1947 French version of this film was shown at Cannes.
