Abstract:
Advertisement for Phosphatine Falières. Card features a color illustration of two men and a dog. The young man, Colin, is a cowherd and dressed in dark brown clothing and hat. He's holding a rifle under his right arm with his left hand on his forehead. A brown and white dog, named Sultan, is in front of him looking at the sleeping gamekeeper. The gamekeeper is laying in the grass, with his black tricorn next to him. He is wearing blue, red, and gold clothing with white leggings. Around them are trees and an open wooden gate. The border is yellow with two white vases of holly, with small pictures of two brown and white cows and a deer at the top. On the back is the poem "Le vacher et le garde-chasse" from the Fables of Florian, and another image of the cowherd and dog. The black and white illustration shows the young cowherd looking confusedly at the dog with a hand by his mouth. Above, around the poem, is a green border of vines with a deer at the top.
