California's physician assistants: how scope of practice laws impact care
Numerous studies find that physician assistants (PAs) provide high-quality care and are more likely to practice in rural regions and with underserved populations. This paper describes the regulations that govern the scope of practice for PAs in California and in other states, and summarizes recent research on how these laws impact care.
