Sarah Wooley, William Osler, Grace Revere Gross (left to right) and William Francis (up front). Osler had just taken the position of physician-in-chief at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and after a visit to Toronto, travelled to Tracadie, New Brunswick in the company of his "nephew," Francis, to inspect a leper colony there. Mrs. Gross, recently widowed, was vacationing there with Sarah Wooley, and the four met up in Saint John, New Brunswick. Osler and Gross married three years later..
